Development of Nanotechnology – based Filtration
Nanotechnology is expected to bring revolutionary changes to water purifier technology. Nanomaterials have unique properties that can be harnessed to create more efficient filters. For instance, nanowires or nanofibers can be used to construct membranes with smaller and more uniform pores. These membranes can not only remove even smaller particles and contaminants but also have better anti – fouling properties, reducing the frequency of membrane cleaning and replacement. Nanoparticles with catalytic properties can be integrated into the filtration system to break down complex organic pollutants into simpler, less harmful substances during the purification process.
