In today’s era of increasing demand for drinking water quality,
water purifiers have become an indispensable device for many homes.
In the water purifier, the filter element plays an important role in the core defense line,
and its importance is reflected in many aspects.
Filter element is the key guarantee of water purification
The working principle of the water purifier is to filter the
water layer by layer through different types of filter elements,
thereby removing various impurities and harmful substances in the water.
Common filter elements include PP cotton filter element, activated carbon filter element,
ultrafiltration membrane filter element,
reverse osmosis membrane filter element, etc. Each filter element has its unique filtration function.
PP cotton filter: As a primary filter,
the filtration accuracy of PP cotton filter is generally 1-5μm, which can effectively
intercept large particles in the water, such as suspended solids, sediment, rust and so on.
If these impurities are not removed, they will not only affect the taste of the water,
but also may cause blockage of the subsequent filter
element and reduce the filtration efficiency of the entire water purifier.
Activated carbon filter element:
activated carbon has a strong adsorption capacity,
and its filter element can absorb residual chlorine, different colors,
odor and other substances in the water to improve the taste and smell of water.
At the same time, activated carbon can also adsorb some organic
matter and some heavy metal ions to further improve water quality.
Ultrafiltration membrane filter element:
the filtration accuracy of ultrafiltration membrane is about 0.01μm,
which can intercept bacteria, viruses, colloids, macromolecular
organic matter and other impurities in the water,
and retain minerals and trace elements that are beneficial to the human body.
The water filtered by the ultrafiltration membrane filter element
can meet the general domestic water needs,
but for some occasions with high water quality requirements,
such as direct drinking water, further filtration is needed.
Reverse osmosis membrane filter element: reverse osmosis membrane is the filter
element with the highest filtration accuracy at present, and its aperture is only 0.0001μm,
which is about 5000 times smaller than the diameter of bacteria and viruses.
Only water molecules can pass through the reverse osmosis membrane,
while other impurities, heavy metal ions, bacteria, viruses, etc. are almost intercepted outside,
and the water filtered through the reverse osmosis membrane can reach the direct drinking standard,
providing people with safe and pure drinking water
