How The Air Purifier Works

How The Air Purifier Works

Filter purification
Primary filter: usually located in the outermost layer of the air purifier, it can filter out large dust, hair, fibers and other particles.
High Efficiency filter (HEPA) : It is one of the core components of the air purifier, which can effectively remove small particles in the air, such as PM2.5, pollen, bacteria, viruses, etc. The filtration efficiency of HEPA filters can usually reach more than 99.97%.
Activated carbon filter: mainly used to absorb harmful gases in the air, such as formaldehyde, benzene, TVOC and so on. Activated carbon has a large specific surface area and abundant micropore structure, which can adsorb a large number of harmful gas molecules.

Adsorption purification
Electrostatic adsorption: The use of electrostatic field, so that the particles in the air with charges, and then adsorbed to the electrode plate. Electrostatic adsorption air purifier has the advantages of low wind resistance, low noise and low energy consumption, but it is necessary to clean the electrode plate regularly, otherwise it will affect the purification effect.
Negative ion adsorption: By releasing negative ions, particles in the air are negatively charged, and then adsorbed to objects with positive charges, such as walls, furniture, etc. Anion adsorption air purifier can improve air quality and human immunity, but the removal effect of harmful gases is limited.

Decomposition purification
Photocatalytic decomposition: The use of photocatalytic materials (such as titanium dioxide) to produce strong oxidation under ultraviolet irradiation, decomposing harmful gases in the air into harmless substances. Photocatalytic decomposition air purifier has the advantages of good purification effect and no secondary pollution, but it needs enough ultraviolet radiation to play a role.
Ozonolysis: Through the release of ozone, the oxidation of harmful gases in the air into harmless substances. Ozone decomposition air purifier has the advantages of fast purification speed and good effect, but ozone itself is also a harmful gas, and its release needs to be controlled to avoid harm to the human body.
